Lee Jeans was established in 1889 as the H.D Lee merchantile company and quickly sees the need for reliable workwear. It is with this venture that Lee starts what is to become one of the most successful garment companies throughout the 20th century. Later, in 1926, Lee introduces the worlds first ever zip fly jean, the 101Z. In 1944 Lee introduces the 'Lazy S' on the back pockets, which runs through to this day.
