Levis Jeans were established on May 20th 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis are granted a patent of the riveting process. It is widely acknowledged as the official 'birthday' of blue jeans. In 1890 '501®' is used to describe the famous copper riveted "waist overalls" and in 1928 the company registers the word 'Levi's®' as a trademark and to this day Levis® jeans continues to be one of the brand leaders in denim-fashion.
