Robe Di Kappa was founded in the 1950s by the Maglificio Calzificio Torinese. Kappa sales went through the roof as the student movement embraced the idea of casual-wear. Due to this success the management at MCT decided to begin producing outerwear. This was based entirely on the success of the company’s best-selling brand; from this point Robe di Kappa was born. The famous Robe di Kappa Omini logo dates back to 1969. It emerged during a photo session for the Beatrix bathing suits catalogue; photographers realised they had come up with more than just a pretty picture. It was a photo of the now famous young man and woman, both naked and sitting back to back with their outlines traced by back lighting. The new range includes the William and Harry Polo.
