Garbstore History

Help thy neighbour and he shall help me...

As people are becoming more and more insular and the frightening thought, "If it doesn't affect me then I'm not interested" is increasingly prevalent in the public of today The Garbstore has decided to pay homage to those who stand against such thinking. We stand as a witness to the unravelling corpo- rate world around us. First in line to shout "Down Corps"

The inspiration for the fifth Garbstore collection was found in what seems a bygone era of the "general public" taking pride in helping oneÕs own community. We have stayed close to our military roots whilst incorporat- ing more casual vintage clothing such as knitwear, sweatshirts and T-shirts. Crew necked 50's style flat locked saddle sleeve track sweatshirts, ribbed edged 50's style sports T's with bound ringer edges and hems for durability and 50's style locker cardigans in reproduction 5 gauge Shetland Wool yarns are just a few pieces that can all be found in our new collection

Since our first collection in A/W 2007 The Garbstore has become synonymous with high quality denim with our unique dedication to authentic- ity. The high standard we have set ourselves for our jeans has once again been met with our new range. There is a straight cut 50's low rise Jean using 11.8 ounce left hand twill tight weave Okayama selvedge denim with a fully tailored grip tape waistband. Pockets have been made to smile.

We also have a loose, medium rise 1950's cut straight slacker leg Jean in 11 ounce broken twill true blue denim with authentic herringbone pocket bags and the waistband is lined with shirt gripper vintage banding tape.

Pride of place belongs to our new peasants Jean, two years in the making using reproduction vintage trims and unique pattern style. Wing back for braces with black lining. Engineered darts again into our pockets which all smile. Cinch backed with original "Brummie Buttons from English shipyards"

Our World War One Japanese made reproduction corded cloth is an excellent fabric that we have also used on a re-production English Warden Coat, originally manufactured in North West England in 1956, with heavy duty stitching and bar tacking and all pockets for durability. This coat is also available in super soft 12 ounce luxury Japanese chino twill.

The Mountain Providence Parka is one of many stand out pieces, Tailored in beautiful tight weave Japanese canvas, offers a glimpse of high end outerwear before the word technical enveloped that world. Based on the DIY models it is available in Forest Green, desert Tan and deep Black.

There is also a new shirting repro USN 9 ounce chambray denim with a nautical feel double taped collars and pockets with front extended bib at the lower placket. This also available in the elusive "Black Cham- bray".
Attention has been paid to the original service packaging that would have graced the shelves of our grandfathers outfitters, all jersey wear is bound with Garbstore signature garment bands, and all of our luxury shirtings come in special disc bound translucent envelope pockets.

Inspired by the general public for the knowledgeable minority...
