A Brief History of the Worn By label Worn By is a London-based company that was founded in 2004. Worn By clothing ranges are dedicated to recreating (and taking influences from) garments of the past, ‘worn by’ some of the biggest icons in music, sport and film. Since its foundings, the brand has been growing in influence over the fashion industry. The Iconic Music Influences of Worn By The Worn by brand primarily appeals to music lovers – as the printed t-shirts, sweats, hoodies and dresses are dedicated to iconic events in Rock and Roll history. Iconic influences come from legendary artists, such as John Lennon, Blondie, The Ramones, Motley Crue, Judas Priest and many more – all of which can be found on their website. In collaborations with original artists, photographers and musicians, Worn By recreates items worn by icons of the past.
Worn By relies on collaborations with legends from the music industry to give their collections authenticity. They have worked with designer Steve ‘Krusher’ Joule to recreate some of his original designs for Black Sabbath and legendary independent record label Stiff Records created their own range of T-shirts for Worn by, influenced by the British punk scence. Additionally, in 2010 for the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s death, Worn By have been working with the Hendrix family to create an exclusive psychadelic range of archived album artwork and photographs.
To authenticate the retro Rock and Roll look, Worn By teamed up with Devoted to Vintage, one of Europe’s largest stockist of vintage pieces. Worn By hand picks the best vintage items to complete the retro heritage look. Again, the inspiration for the hand chosen key pieces comes from favourite icons and their unique styling. Each vintage item is usually a one-off in pristine condition and perfectly matched to the recent Worn By collection.
