The Deck Shoes Story

Paul Sperry had personal experience of the importance of non sip souls on deck and so started his long and ambitious quest for a solution. One day in 1935, after watching his dog dart effortlessly across the ice on a cold Connecticut day, he was inspired to carve grooves – like those on his dog's paws – into the bottom of a rubber sole. In that moment of inspiration, the world's first boat shoe was born.
Both Sperry and Sebago pride themselves on craftsmanship and special feature that improve performance, details like non slip souls and the anti corrosive eyelets from Sebago ensure the shoe can endure the corrosive effects of the salt and all that life has to show at them, equally at home in the city and countryside deck shoes are now a staple in mens wardrobes around the globe.
