Sebago was born in 1946 from a consumer demand for quality, casual footwear. An owner of five independent shoe stores in Maine was determined to keep his stores stocked,so he partnered with two local businessmen and created a hand sewn footwear factory.
The Sebago Beacon Deck Boot are hand sewn from high quality leather with leather laces, non corrosive eyelets, non slip rubberised sole unit and a woven Sebago label on the cuff.
Converse began in 1908 specialising in rubber galoshes. Eventually they started using this rubber to make sneakers. In 1920 the famous basketball sneaker was born, the "All Star". The intention of the shoe was purely for basketball but gradually they increased so much in popularity, everyone was wearing the iconic shoes.
